Next Event: Spooky Soup – Art & Artists Edition takes place October 25

Join Toledo SOUP on Sunday, October 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the historic Ohio Theatre and Events Center (3112 Lagrange St.) to eat delicious soups provided by local chefs, hear presentations on projects that benefit the Toledo area, and vote for your favorite proposal.

This months soups come courtesy of Balance Grille, Shawn’s Irish Tavern, and Zoup! Plus bread donated from All Crumbs Bakery.

Due to the growth of the nonprofit and to accommodate as many groups in need as possible, the organization has divided SOUP events into themes. The theme for the October 25 event is “Art and Artists,” inviting all art-oriented businesses, community projects and nonprofits to submit proposals. Future themed events will include Social Welfare and Entrepreneurship.

Proposal Deadline for this round is October 4. Submit a proposal here.

SOUP seeks arts initiatives: Proposal deadline is Oct. 4

Toledoans have spoken, and SOUP is listening!  The crowdfunding organization has changed their program to give more community groups a chance to present their projects to the public.

Beginning this fall, SOUP events will focus on three key areas of community development: art and artists, social welfare, and entrepreneurship. The next event (Sunday, October 25) will focus on the city’s art initiatives.

Toledo SOUP invites all artists and art organizations to consider submitting a proposal idea via the online form here. Proposals will be accepted until midnight on Sunday, October 4, 2015.

If selected, candidates will present their idea for 3-5 minutes at the next SOUP event, to be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 at the Ohio Theatre and Events Center.

The attendance fee/donation is $5 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Each guest will receive one vote for their favorite community initiative, as well as a complimentary meal of soup and bread from area chefs.

Proposals should focus on ways to benefit the Toledo community, and candidates will be notified if their submission has been selected for presentation.
