Toledo SOUP is now accepting complete ideas for its Summer Luau event to be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 in the Mad Ave Collective, located at 1600 Madison Avenue in Uptown Toledo. Anyone in the Toledo community, as well as its surrounding suburbs, is eligible to submit a proposal.
Toledo SOUP Seeks Ideas For Summer Event
If you have an idea for a community-minded project, or your business, non-profit, club, or organization requires monetary assistance to realize a goal, Toledo SOUP can help provide funding with microgrants up to $1000. Past presenters have discussed everything from art, music and theater workshops to after school programs, hunger initiatives and more.
All ideas that meet Toledo SOUP’s requirements will be sent to a panel of community judges for further review. The top five ideas, as agreed upon by our judges, will have the opportunity to present at the even on June 22. Grant recipients are selected through a community voting process, and funding is received at the end of the event.
Toledo SOUP’s most recent winners include Derek Bunch of New Life Urban Agriculture and Elizabeth Harris of Glass City Goat Girls. Previous Toledo SOUP winners were Maxwell Austin of Glass City Pedicabs, Genevieve Abalos of Art Around Town and Audrey Johnson of Art Around Town.
Prospective presenters have until Saturday, May 31 to submit ideas online. Toledo SOUP will accept former submissions. Please view our guidelines on re-applying and presenting. Additional information on this summer’s Hawaiian-themed Toledo SOUP event will be announced on Toledo SOUP’s Facebook page.
